- New shelves and a tidier nagging shed (for the moment)
Not a song title, although it could be perhaps. I’m missing working the bees. Big time! Following the excitement and rush of Christmas and a double birthday on New Years Day (my own and my eldest son, Tim, born on my 30th birthday), I’m miserably contemplating my return to work tomorrow.
Despite some despondency, the holiday has provided an opportunity to have a clear out of my nagging shed, the garage. Three trips to the local amenity dump has cleared yet more space for new shelves and storage space for beekeeping equipment. Yay!
Unfortunately the clear out also required a decision to be made about my late sister Alexandra’s hand-written journals, diaries kept during the longest days of her anorexia until her untimely death in 2011. Decision? To keep or discard since I cannot (nor anyone else) read her handwriting. Ultimately I chose the latter, although I felt like I was putting her in the recycling bin. I have some of her writings, including poetry as electronic Word documents, so have not discarded everything. Sad time though. Diaries going back to the early seventies! They were very private documents, but I was looking for reasons why. Perhaps it’s meant to be that I don’t understand why?
My first blog. Please leave some feedback, encouragement, improvement or otherwise. Let’s see through the dark days of winter together. Thank you.
